Heretat de Taverners
Heretat de Taverners was built on the site of the outbuildings of the old house, a building dating from 1667 that we have faithfully restored.
Wine production has been documented on the estate since the 17th century. We have replanted all the vi- neyards, currently more than 30 hectares, on trellises. We have kept the native varieties, such as Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera, and added others, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot. Thanks to a successful experimental planting of the northern Graciano grape, we have also become the first vineyard to cultivate this variety in southern Spain.
The soil varies from poor and sandy on the highest parts of the estate to a more productive clay, where we work with a vegetal covering to achieve the desired grape production.
