Thierry Villard, a native of Paris, traveled the world and settled in Chile in the mid 1980s. Villard Fine Wines was established in 1989 in Casablanca, making them one of the pioneers in the valley. Since then, they have been recognized as one of the leading producers from the region.

Now the new generation has taken over the estate, led by Charlie Villard. He continues to focus on minimal intervention farming, trying to express the best of the ocean-influenced appellation of Casablanca. This vineyard sits on foothills of the coastal mountain range just 35 kms from the Pacific Ocean. The Humboldt current running through the cold waters of the pacific, have a big impact in the microclimate, giving the region more moderate temperatures with cool sea breezes; giving an ideal climate for their grapes.
