El Pocito Rufete

Grapes from El Pocito in Villanueva del Conde, are on a steeply sloping terraced hillside with granitic soil and abundant quartz at an altitude of 700 to 800 mts. The vineyard was replanted in 1902.

This wine has a delicate cherry-red color with complex aromas of spice, ripe fruit, dried flowers and wild herbs. On the palate, it is savory and complex with a long and balanced finish.

Vinification
Manually sorted and harvested into 15 kg picking crates. Destemmed and rigorously sorted on the sorting tables. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Wine later moved via gravity to french oak barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation; manual punch downs. Aged in French oak barrels of 500 liters for 16 months, unfined and unfiltered.
